Serpent's Call
Acrylic Painting
36 x 18
"Sachamama, Hatun Amaru, Winds of the South, Great Serpent, Mother of the waters, the rivers, the galaxies, and the roads that bring us together, come wrap your coils of light around us. Teach us to shed the energies of the past that no longer serve us, the way you shed your skin. Show us how to walk softly on the Earth, in the beauty way. Inform us so that we may walk in this world with beauty and harmony."
This vision was inspired by the Inca Medicine Wheel and the practices of Munay-Ki. I have experienced profound healing and guidance with these practices and have immense respect and gratitude for the Q'ero Inca Shaman in Peru who have brought their wisdom and teachings to Western culture. They believe it is crutial to pass on these practices to Westerners because we have lost touch with nature. It is essential for the preservation of life on our planet and our health for us to remember how to live in balance and give back to our mother in ayni (reciprocity). The serpent reminds us to leave behind the ways that no longer serve us in order to change our perception and transmute challenges into new opportunities.
